One of my favorite things - designer series paper stacks

Genuine Gems with designer paper stack background. Would you like a FREE designer series paper stack?

Do you have a favorite item?  One that automatically makes your list each year before even deciding how you will use it?  I have a couple products like that, and this is one of them!

I love the 6" x 6" designer series paper stacks that come in all the colors of our color line.  And this year, I was so excited to see a gingham print in the line-up!  That's right - gingham in every.single.color!

Why do I like these so much? They are so versatile!  And since they come in a pack for each color family, there are tons of colors!  And each color comes in 4 prints.

So, 50 colors, 4 prints each, means 200 choices!  Ahhh, yes!  The endless possibilities!  And why they always work as a go-to choice when you need a little something on a project!  I love using them for layers, punching, die cut pieces, for big and little strips, and for stamping on!

Cute & simple cards using the Darling Label Punch Box with designer paper layers. Get your designer series paper stack FREE!

A Daisy Lane Catalog CASE

Daisy Lane and Stitched Label dies combine for a beautiful card!

There are so many gorgeous projects in the Annual catalog, and this one is no exception!  I CASED this with a couple changes to make it my own, but I love the depth to this card!

What does it mean to CASE?

Copy And Share Everything.

The texture added by the burlap designer paper, and the crumpled Garden Green cardstock is perfect!

Using designer paper and crumpled cardstock are two ways to add texture to your project.

This strip was stamped with the fern from the Daisy Lane stamp set in Garden Green ink before crumpling.  (I have been having a lot of fun recently with this set. I also used it last week on this card).

It also uses one of my favorite die sets, the Stitched Label dies.  I know, I have a lot of favorites, but I can't help myself!

The designer series paper is from the Pressed Petals collection.  The fronts are beautiful florals, and the backs are perfect layering prints, including this burlap.

To create this card:

  • cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4"
  • cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock  4" x 5 1/4" for the front layer
  • cut a strip of vellum cardstock 1" x 4 1/2"
  • cut a strip of Garden Green cardstock 3/4" x 5", trim both ends

Die cut the large label from designer paper, and a small circle from Whisper White cardstock.  Stamp the small daisy on the Petal Pink front layer in Petal Pink ink, the fern on the Garden Green strip in Garden Green ink, and the sentiment on the white circle label in Crumb Cake ink.  Layer the large label and strips on the front layer, tie with linen thread, and adhere to the card base.  Add the circle sentiment to the center.

I hope you enjoyed today's CASE.  Pick a card from your catalog to CASE, and share it with me.  Or get your very own Daisy Lane set and CASE my card!  I would love to see what you make!

Ink Storage Overhaul (video)

New Storage by Stampin' Up

I am in LOVE!

The new Storage by Stampin' Up! line came out a few months ago.  Since its debut, I have taken time to decide how I wanted to incorporate it into my space.  With a full work space revamp in my future, I wanted something that would work now and later.

It is awesome!!

With only 5 sturdy white plastic modular pieces to work with, it's like playing craft Legos.  By mixing, matching, stacking, and pairing, these modular pieces make -the- most amazing custom storage space (you can see my space before later in this post)!  And the best part, when you want to 'reorganize' (and face it......we all do it......over and over again), you can take the pieces apart and create a whole new look!

SU Storage by Stampin' Up units 1

  • Ink Pad & Marker Tray (5 pack) - holds 5 ink pads with coordinating Stampin' Write Marker
  • Stampin' Blends Tray (5 pack) - holds up to 30 Stampin' Blends or other markers
  • Open Storage Cube - perfect for blocks, ribbon, adhesive, tools, embellishments, dies, embossing folders, 6" x 6" designer papers - everything!
  • Storage Topper - great for reinkers, blocks, adhesives, embellishments, anything you want handy
  • Storage Lid - to finish a tower, or to create a base to set larger items on top of your storage

My favorite parts:

  • the crisp clean look.

When I stand at my crafting table, it is just refreshing, and inspires creativity!  Everything is within easy reach, with few exceptions, and makes it easy to put right away, keeping your space neat and tidy.

  • the rainbow of color.

With all my ink pads organized in a color rainbow, it is not only beautiful, but it makes comparing colors easy, and grabbing the right one a snap!

  • it's expandable and affordable.

All the pieces stack and lock together making it easy to add pieces as needed.  Whether you have 2 ink pads or 20, it can grow with you, and you only need to purchase the pieces you need.

I use it on almost every project.  I previously stored my ribbon and trims in a cart on the other side of my room.  Now, I keep the matching ribbon in the same stack with the coordinating ink pad and marker.  I will be adding additional pieces, and bring twine and metallic threads into the mix as well!  I love having it at my fingertips!  It makes my work space much more efficient.

Keep your ink, markers, ribbon and matching embellishments together to make your work space more efficient!

And here is how that space looked before.

Before organizing with Storage by Stampin' Up!

I will tackle my die cutting area next, adding pieces to store embossing folders, dies, and 6" x 6" designer paper stacks.  I will share it with you once finished!

Would you like to organize an area in your creative space? I would love to help!  Once you are ready, click on any of the products below to visit my store and get started.  Or contact me today for a space planning packet!

Color Fusers Blog Hop July 2019

Color Fusers July 2019 Daisy Lane with Soft Sea Foam, Purple Posy & Seaside Spray

It's time for another Color Fusers blog hop!  Thank you for joining us today with a fun color challenge!

Color Fusers July 2019

This month's challenge used Soft Sea Foam paired with two new In Colors, Seaside Spray and Purple Posy.  I am loving Purple Posy!  You may be seeing a lot of it over the coming months!  I don't think we have ever had a set of new In Colors which pair so perfectly with our regular colors.

For this project, I pulled out the Daisy Lane stamp set, which comes bundled with a new medium Daisy punch.  It's a fun set, and the daisy punch is a great sizeCheck out the background on this project.  Isn't it gorgeous?  It was made using the new Stitched Lace die.  It is one large die, and comes with an edge die to cut the decorative edge if you choose.  It's so pretty.

And did you notice the beautiful Designer Element in the center of the flower?  These are also gorgeous!  They come in a pack which includes all the different metallic colors.  Yet another hidden gem in the new Annual catalog.  You will want these!

The Stitched Lace die makes gorgeous backgrounds!

To create this card:

  • cut a piece of Seaside Spray cardstock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and score at 4 1/4"
  • cut a piece of Silver Foil 3 3/4 x 5 1/4"
  • cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 3 5/8" x 5 1/4"
  • cut a strip of Whisper White cardstock 1" x 2 3/4"

Die cut the white lace background layer (with both the lace die, than the edge die), than cut the detailed edge of the silver foil layer.  Adhere the lace and silver foil layer together, than trim to size as needed.  Layer 3 punched daisies together to get a fuller flower.  Add leaves and sprigs to the flower before adhering to the card front.  Add a sentiment of choice.

Use multiple punched pieces to get dimension on a project.

Stampin' Tips:

  • It's easy to create texture on the daisy simply by punching it from designer paper
  • Add dimension to card elements by curling parts with a bone folder (I did this on the flower petals and leaves)

I hope you enjoyed today's project.  Order your Daisy Lane bundle or any of the other products I used on today's project by clicking on any of the products below.
