3D tutorial group photo

For today's project, I had a lot of fun transforming a 3D die to make a flat card front.  Look at the totes and purses which can be made with this die set.  Aren't they adorable?

#151665 All Dressed Up Dies

To create a 3D project, it takes 2 die cuts with the tote die - so easy!  I wanted to make a flat purse, so I modified the cut for a card front.  It was quite simple.  Here are the steps.

First, die cut the shape from any designer paper or cardstock.  I shortened my bag, so I only cut a portion of the main section.

Making a bag 1-2

Next, trim the side edge along the score line made by the die.

Making a bag 2-2

Then, line up the bottom edge of the designer paper with the bottom edge of the die, and run it through your die cutting machine again.  This adds the stitched line and a score line.

Making a bag 3-2

Finally, trim along the bottom on the score line.

Making a bag 4-2

Once, you place it on your card front, adhere the handle to finish the purse.

This designer gem was dressed up using the Timeless Tropical stamp set and coordinating In the Tropics dies from the 2020 January - June Mini catalog.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Everyone needs a polka dot purse, made with the All Dressed Up dies!

To create this card:

  • Cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Old Olive card base, scored at 4 1/4"
  • Cut a Lovely Lipstick cardstock layer 3 5/8" x 4 5/8"
  • Cut a Flirty Flamingo cardstock layer 3 1/2" x 4 1/2"
  • Die cut the largest scalloped stitched rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies in Whisper White cardstock
  • Die cut the sentiment piece using the Stitched So Sweetly dies from Whisper White cardstock

Adhere the scalloped rectangle on the Flirty Flaming layer, than the Lovely Lipstick Layer.  Adhere to card front with dimensionals.  Adhere purse to card front.  Add strap using dimensionals.  Trim pointed ends if desired.  Stamp a flower in Lovely Lipstick ink on Flirty Flamingo cardstock, and a large leaf in Pear Pizzazz ink on Granny Apple Green and Old Olive cardstock.  Die cut the flower, 2 large stamped leaves, than die cut 2 small leaves from Granny Apple Green cardstock.  Assemble floral cluster and adhere to purse with dimensionals.  Embellish purse handles and floral center with From My Heart Faceted Gems.  Stamp sentiment in Lovely Lipstick ink and adhere to card front.  Tie a double bow with Whisper White Baker's Twine and adhere to floral cluster.

Timeless Tropical Pineapple meets Vellum plus Blog Candy!

Vellum pineapple card-2

Hello, and welcome back!

I'm happy you came to visit today so I can share this fun and adorable card with you.  I love the simple monochromatic look.  The embellishments step it up, and those sequins.......WOW!

I will be sending these to my team members who are celebrating birthdays this month, and a thank you version to my customers who have recently purchased from me.

This project uses the Timeless Tropical bundle and Tropical Oasis designer paper which are from the Timeless Tropical product suite in the 2020 January-June mini catalog.  I have loved working with this suite of products, and for those of you who joined in on the fun with us in California for the Spring Luau Retreat, you know what I'm talking about!

#153811 Timeless Tropical Bundle

#1561252 Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper

The entire Timeless Tropical product suite is packed with amazing products!  Including one of my favorite embossing folders, and beautiful Memory & More cards, which I will feature on upcoming projects.

The color combination on this project is a monochromatic palette of Pool party and Bermuda Bay.  The Iridescent Sequins pull the blue and green hues together so beautifully.

Vellum pineapple detail-2

I don't think these sequins get enough press.....but they are gorgeous!  And go with tons of colors, which change depending on what they are paired with.

#144212 Iridescent Sequin Assortment

Are you able to pick out the sequin colors on today's project?  There are many colors in the pack, which come in 3 different sizes.  A pack will last a while.

Stampin' Tip:  I find the Fine Tip Glue Pen and Take Your Pick Tool essentials when working with small embellishments, like sequins and rhinestones.  They make handling and adhering them a snap, and so easy to get perfect placement.

#138309 Fine Tip Glue Pen

#144107 Take Your Pick Tool

To create this card:

  • Cut a Pool Party card base 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and fold
  • Cut a Bermuda Bay cardstock layer 4" x 4"
  • Cut a designer paper layer 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
  • Cut a 2 3/8" x 1" strip of Pool Party cardstock for sentiment
  • Die cut a pineapple and pineapple crown from Vellum cardstock

Adhere Bermuda Bay then designer paper layer to card front.  Adhere vellum pineapple and crown to card front using multipurpose glue.  Stamp sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink on Pool Party cardstock, trim banner end, and adhere to card with dimensionals.  Tie a bow with striped Bermuda Bay ribbon and adhere to pineapple with a glue dot.  Embellish as desired with iridescent sequins using a Fine Tip Glue pen.  Stamp sentiment on the inside in Bermuda Bay ink.

The Ornate Garden suite is packed full of amazing products, including 2 stamp and die bundles, a cute embossing folder, gorgeous designer paper with foil accents, beautiful ribbon, and pretty bling!  The products in this suite are available to order now....2 months before the catalog launches!

Let me introduce you to the beauty of this suite!  The incredible detailed dies in both bundles, Ornate Style bundle and Ornate Thanks bundle.

Lovely Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Paper with gold foil accents.

And no suite is complete without pretty embellishments - meet the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack and Gilded Gems!

Today's card is simpler than it seems.  It shows the fun Ornate Floral embossing folder and the lovely Ornate Thanks stamp set, which uses one of my most favorite fonts ever!  This stamp set is perfect for creating custom sentiments!  Who doesn't love the opportunity to color with Stampin' Blends markers!  The large floral spray from the Ornate Style stamp set is perfect for that.  I spruced it up a bit with a little fussy cutting to add a fun design element.

Ornate Garden Youre Amazing close up-2

To create this card:

  • Cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Melon Mambo card base, score at 4 1/4" and fold
  • Cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Melon Mambo cardstock layer and emboss with the Ornate Floral embossing folder
  • Cut a 3 3/4" x 4 1/2" Thick Whisper White cardstock layer to stamp the floral spray
  • Cut a 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock for the sentiment
  • Cut a 3 7/8" x 3 1/4" layer of Gold Glimmer paper

Adhere embossed layer to card front.  Stamp floral spray in black Memento ink on thick white cardstock.  Color with Stampin' Blends.  Fussy cut along the top to create design interest.  I added a score line across this layer 1 1/2" from the top, from the edge just to the stamped image, to guide where I cut.  After cutting, layer glimmer paper behind white layer, and adhere to card front with dimensionals.  Add a ribbon bow and gilded gems as desired.  Stamp sentiment in Melon Mambo ink on white strip.  Banner cut left edge, and add to card front.

Happy Easter to You

Happy Easter!

It's hard to believe that we are already celebrating this special day.  And a special day calls for a pretty card!

There is a no stamping on the front of today's card.

It was created with 3 different die sets.  By layering elements, I created a beautiful focal point.  The only stamping is the inside sentiment.

Combine die cut elements to create a meaningful card

The cross is made by combining 2 dies from the Cross of Hope die set, and the gorgeous detail piece on the bottom is from the Jubilee Beauty dies from the 2020 January-June mini catalog.  Word Wishes is a die set which covers all holidays.  It is a staple for every stamper's studio, and works perfectly on this Easter card.

Layer die cut elements to create a stunning focal point.

There is even a coordinating stamp set to Word Wishes called A Wish for Everything, which allows you to create endless custom holiday sentiments by combining stamped and die cut elements.  The great news is when you purchase them together, the bundle is discounted!

To create the cross, I placed the thin cross inside the larger cross and ran it through my die cutting machine together, creating this delicate element.

Layer dies to create new shapes.

To create this card:

  • Cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Purple Posy cardstock, score at 4 1/4" and fold
  • Cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Purple Posy cardstock and emboss with the Subtle embossing folder
  • Die cut a cross, the sentiment, and the detail element piece from Purple Posy cardstock
  • Die cut 3 fronds from Crumb Cake cardstock

Adhere embossed layer to card front, then add detail element to bottom of card front. Color cross with Wink of Stella glitter brush, then wrap a piece of Purple Posy linen ribbon around cross and tack in place with glue dots.  Adhere cross to card front with dimensionals.  Tuck fronds behind cross and adhere in place.  Add sentiment and a linen thread bow to cross.  Embellish with pearls as desired.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Wishing you and your family many blessings!

Color Fusers Blog Hop April 2020

April 2020 Color Fusers color challenge

Welcome back to the Color Fusers blog hop for the month of April.  I hope you are well, and are finding the silver lining in each day.  I am enjoying spending extra time with my husband and children without the day-to-day chaos that 4 children and 2 working parents brings.  What are you enjoying most?  Please share in the comments, I would love to hear your silver lining!

April 2020 Color Fusers Color Challenge

I really enjoyed this month's color challenge.  The colors flow together nicely, and were easy to work with.

Stitched So Sweetly and Well Said dies work perfectly together!

As the current catalog is soon coming to a close, I pulled out items that have not gotten enough love.  This designer paper is simply gorgeous!  It comes in 3 colors with beautiful patterns printed on each color.  I had not thought to use it for a card base until now.  It works perfectly!

And for whatever reason, I have not even inked up Botanical Bliss yet.  This set is lovely.  It was one of my favorites when it launched.

Botanical Bliss Stamp Set

I pulled in some great die sets and a punch to round out today's project.

Wink of Stela is perfect on the bird!

To create this card:

  • cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Noble Peacock designer paper and score a t 4 1/4"
  • Cut a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock 3 1/4" x 2 3/16"
  • Die cut a medium scalloped rectangle from Vellum cardstock using the Stitched So Sweetly dies
  • punch 2 sprigs from Balmy Blue cardstock
  • die cut 5 branches from Granny Apple Green cardstock using the Botanical Tags die set

Adhere the Soft Sea Foam layer behind the vellum scalloped rectangle and adhere to card front.  Stamp sentiment in Soft Sea Foam ink on Whisper White cardstock, fussy cut and adhere to rectangle.  Die cut 'friend' in Granny Apple Green cardstock using the Well Written dies and adhere beneath sentiment.  Stamp bird in Blueberry Bushel ink, color with Wink of Stella, fussy cut, and adhere sitting on word.  Arrange die cut branches and punched sprigs behind rectangle and adhere in place.  Color a piece of metallic trimmed ribbon with a Soft Sea Foam Blends marker, tie in a bow, and adhere to rectangle. Embellish as desired with None Peacock Rhinestones.  Stamp inside sentiment in Soft Sea Foam ink.

Stampin' Tip:  Use your Blends markers to color white ribbon, making custom colors for any project!
