Color Fusers Blog Hop July 2020

Color Fusers July 2020 using the Beautiful World bundle.

Thank you for joining us today for another Color Fusers Blog Hop.  Each month we bring a color challenge to you by creating a card using the same colors.  Visit the whole team to see some awesome projects in a fun color combination.

Color Fusers July Color Challenge: Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point

This month I chose to create using he World of Beauty stamp set and coordinating World Map dies.  What a fun set!  Since the color combination creates an unexpected look for the theme of these stamps and dies, I pulled in extra fun with polka dots and bows.

I created the background by sponging ink onto a polka dot Basic Patterns Decorative Masks.

Add interest by using masks to create detailed background layers.

The sentiment was cut with a die from the Tasteful Labels die set.  I have used this set on so many of my projects lately, and it has fallen into the 'must have' category.  It has quickly become my favorite label set of all time for good reason!  With so many different shapes and sizes, it works for just about every single project.  Plus, there is beautiful stitching and decorative edges on each die, adding just the right amount of detail.

The Tasteful Labels dies are perfect for just about every project!

And it was fun creating detail to the continents with Shimmery Crystal Effects.

Shimmery Crystal Effects creates fun accents!

The World Map die set has a cool embossing die included.  Look at the detail on the banner layered under the sentiment.  Isn't that cool?

The World Map dies in the Beautiful World Bundle have some really neat specialty dies!

To create this card:

  • Cut a 4 1/4" x 11" Shimmery White cardstock base, scored at 5 1/2"
  • Cut a 3 3/4" x 5" background layer in Coastal Cabana
  • Cut a 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" Shimmery White cardstock front layer
  • Cut a 1" x 3 1/2" strip of Coastal Cabana for an accent piece
  • Cut a 1/2" x 2 3/4" strip of Pacific Point for an accent piece

Sponge polka dots onto shimmery white layer in Calypso Coral ink, using a Basic Patterns mask.  Adhere to Coastal Cabana layer then to card front with dimensionals.  Stamp globe in Coastal Cabana ink and the sentiment and globe stand in Pacific Point ink, all on Shimmery White cardstock.  Die cut.  Emboss the strip of Coastal Cabana cardstock with the calligraphy die from the World Map die set.  Layer the Pacific Point and Coastal Cabana strips, and adhere behind sentiment.  Adhere this to card front with dimensionals.  Adhere globe and globe stand to card front using dimensionals.  Color Basic Pearls with Blends marker, and embellish card as desired.  Add Shimmery Crystal Effects to continents or other areas of the card as desired.  Color white ribbon in Light Calypso Coral Blends marker, tie a bow, and adhere to card front.

Hello, and welcome back for another awesome Color Fusers blog hop!

June 2020 Color Fusers Color Challenge with Mel's Inky Fingers

Today I am showcasing one of the beautiful new product suites from the upcoming 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, called In Good Taste.  This catalog launches in 2 days!  The suite features beautiful stamped images with heartwarming sentiments, amazing dies, a perfect new embossing folder, and really cool photorealistic designer paper.

My favorite item in the bundle is the Tasteful Label die set, which contains 10 different sizes and shapes of labels.  There is a shape and size for just about everything, and some even have decorative edges.  And the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder will be the perfect grab when you just need a little texture.

The stamp set has great sentiments, and the embossing folder adds the perfect subtle touch!  I will use both a ton!

Stampin' Tip: Making custom ribbon is a snap with white ribbon and Blends Markers.  For this card, I colored white ribbon, from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Pack with a Light Pool Party Blends Marker.  It dries quite quickly.  Make a rainbow of colors using any white ribbon and your Blends markers to customize your projects!

White ribbon_colored ribbon with blends_flowers for every season ribbon-melsinkyfingers

To create this card:

  • cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Petal Pink card base and score at 4 1/4"
  • Cut a front layer of Petal Pink cardstock 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Cut a strip of Pool Party cardstock 1" x 4 1/2"
  • die cut a Whisper White label large enough for your sentiment

Stamp random background on Petal Pink front layer in Petal Pink ink.  Stamp twice for each time you ink.  Adhere to card front with dimensionals.  Emboss Pool Party strip with Tasteful Textures embossing folder, trim banner ends, and adhere to card front.  Stamp two feathers in Pool Party ink, fussy cut, and adhere to card front.  Stamp flower in Melon Mambo ink on Vellum Cardstock, let dry, fussy cut, and adhere to card front.  Color ribbon with a Pool Party Blends Marker, tie a bow, and adhere to card front with a glue dot.  Embellish with gold glitter dots.

May 2020 Color Fusers Challenge

This year's retiring In Colors have been, collectively, my favorite collection ever created by Stampin' Up!.  I love how bold and bright they are.  And in 4 short weeks, they will be gone.

Have you grabbed your favorites?

Don't wait!

In Color items are already selling out, as Stampin' Up! has announced the 2020 retiring products, which include these In Colors...the ink pads and any other products in these colors.

In Colors 2018-2020

Retiring In Colors: Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch

Along with these In Colors, today's project also features the retiring Love You To Pieces stamp set and the coordinating Puzzle Pieces dies.  This bundle was on my first order when it debuted, so it's only fitting it is one of my farewell projects.

The mini hearts are the perfect accent!

This great background was made with one of my go-to embossing folders, the Subtle 3D embossing folder.

The perfect go-to embossing folder!

It was even fun to add the heart detail to the inside.

Don't forget the details on the inside, too!

To create this card:

  • Cut a 4 1/4" x 11" Night of Navy card base, scored at 5 1/2"
  • Cut a 3 3/4" x 5" Call Me Clover cardstock layer
  • Cut a 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" Whisper White cardstock layer, emboss with the Subtle 3D embossing folder

Color Fusers Blog Hop April 2020

April 2020 Color Fusers color challenge

Welcome back to the Color Fusers blog hop for the month of April.  I hope you are well, and are finding the silver lining in each day.  I am enjoying spending extra time with my husband and children without the day-to-day chaos that 4 children and 2 working parents brings.  What are you enjoying most?  Please share in the comments, I would love to hear your silver lining!

April 2020 Color Fusers Color Challenge

I really enjoyed this month's color challenge.  The colors flow together nicely, and were easy to work with.

Stitched So Sweetly and Well Said dies work perfectly together!

As the current catalog is soon coming to a close, I pulled out items that have not gotten enough love.  This designer paper is simply gorgeous!  It comes in 3 colors with beautiful patterns printed on each color.  I had not thought to use it for a card base until now.  It works perfectly!

And for whatever reason, I have not even inked up Botanical Bliss yet.  This set is lovely.  It was one of my favorites when it launched.

Botanical Bliss Stamp Set

I pulled in some great die sets and a punch to round out today's project.

Wink of Stela is perfect on the bird!

To create this card:

  • cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Noble Peacock designer paper and score a t 4 1/4"
  • Cut a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock 3 1/4" x 2 3/16"
  • Die cut a medium scalloped rectangle from Vellum cardstock using the Stitched So Sweetly dies
  • punch 2 sprigs from Balmy Blue cardstock
  • die cut 5 branches from Granny Apple Green cardstock using the Botanical Tags die set

Adhere the Soft Sea Foam layer behind the vellum scalloped rectangle and adhere to card front.  Stamp sentiment in Soft Sea Foam ink on Whisper White cardstock, fussy cut and adhere to rectangle.  Die cut 'friend' in Granny Apple Green cardstock using the Well Written dies and adhere beneath sentiment.  Stamp bird in Blueberry Bushel ink, color with Wink of Stella, fussy cut, and adhere sitting on word.  Arrange die cut branches and punched sprigs behind rectangle and adhere in place.  Color a piece of metallic trimmed ribbon with a Soft Sea Foam Blends marker, tie in a bow, and adhere to rectangle. Embellish as desired with None Peacock Rhinestones.  Stamp inside sentiment in Soft Sea Foam ink.

Stampin' Tip:  Use your Blends markers to color white ribbon, making custom colors for any project!

Color Fusers Blog Hop March 2020

March 2020 Color Fusers using Parisian Blossoms stamp set, Cherry Blossom dies, and the Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder

It's color time!  Welcome to the March 2020 Color Fusers Blog Hop.

CF March

I love when I am given a color challenge using colors I would never put together on my own - like Mint Macaron and Pear Pizzazz.  But I love how this project turned out using them together!

The floral blossoms in the Forever Blossoms stamp set worked perfectly to use all the colors well, and I love how the pop of color from the Garden Lane designer paper in Mint Macaron pulls it all together.

The Parisian Flourish embossing folder creates a gorgeous background!

This amazing background was created using the Parisian Flourish embossing folder.  I can't stop using it, it's just gorgeous!  You can see last month's project with this embossing folder here, and another with several products from the Parisian Blossoms product suite, which includes this embossing folder and stamp/die set on today's project, here.

The coloring is quick and easy with a watercolor wash on the flowers and stems, which adds just enough color.  And, although the floral spray looks great straight up,  I love the additional dimension added using the individual blossom and bud stamps and dies included in this set.

Just enough color and dimension thanks to a great stamp/die bundle and a little watercolor wash!

To create this card:

  • cut a Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock card base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", and score at 4 1/4"
  • cut a Very Vanilla layer 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" and emboss with Parisian Flourish embossing folder
  • cut a piece of designer paper 3 3/4" x 5" for layering
  • cut a strip of Very Vanilla 3" x 1/2" for the sentiment

Adhere embossed layer to designer paper at an angle, and adhere to card front with dimensional.  Stamp the floral spray, 2 blossoms, and 1 bud in Soft Suede ink.  Color the flowers with Mint Macaron and the stems and leaves with a Pear Pizzaz watercolor wash using an Aqua Painter.  Die cut and adhere to card front.  Stamp sentiment in Soft Suede ink on vanilla Cardstock, and adhere to card front over a ribbon cluster.  Embellish as desired with Mint Macaron rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone collection.

Color Fusers Blog Hop February 2020

Color Fusers February Color Challenge

Hello!  And welcome to the Color Fusers blog hop!

Color Fusers February 2020 color challenge

Today's project uses a variety of products from the Occasions catalog. But the real star is this gorgeous Parisian Flourish Embossing folder. Isn't it beautiful?

Beautiful Parisian Flourish embossing folder

I paired it with poppies die cut from the outline dies in the Poppy Moments die set.  This heartfelt sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  I love these fonts.  And the sentiments are versatile, and cover just about everything.

The dies and stamp set are from the Peaceful Poppies product suite, which includes 2 stamp and die bundles.  The images, dies, and sentiments are all interchangeable, and allow for endless possibilities in creating your projects.

To create this project:

  • Cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Blushing Bride card base, scored at 4 1/4"
  • Cut a 3 3/4" x 5" Early Espresso cardstock layer
  • Cut a 3 3/4" x 5" Blushing Bride cardstock layer, embossed with the Parisian Flourish embossing folder

Layer the embossed layer offset over the Early Espresso layer, and adhere to card front.  Die cut the poppy outline flowers from Sahara Sand cardstock.  Die cut the floral centers from Early Espresso cardstock, and adhere to flowers.  Stamp label background splatter in Blushing Bride ink, and sentiment in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.   Die cut with the label die from the Painted Poppies die set.  Die cut a second label from Early Espresso cardstock, cut in half, and layer behind the sentiment.  Adhere sentiment to card front.  Embellish with a ribbon bow and sequins from the Peaceful Poppies sequins collection.
