Color Fusers Blog Hop November 2019

Color Fusers Blog Hop with Everything Festive and the Brightly Gleaming product suite.

Welcome!  It's Color Fusers time!

Color Fusers November 2019 color challenge: Cherry Cobbler, Pretty Peacock, and Copper

If you have been not here before, I'm glad you have joined us!  And if you are a seasoned Color Fusers veteran, welcome back!

It's hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner.  In fact, only 49 days to go!  Time to start getting those holiday projects done! This month is a traditional holiday color combination with a little somethin' extra - copper!  The copper adds some elegance, and really helps pull today's project together.

There are many copper accents on this project!

I chose to use the gorgeous Brightly Gleaming designer paper with all things copper - copper metallic elements, copper stars, and copper trim.  And my favorite, a layer of copper foil paper to pull it all together!

To create this project:

  • cut a Cherry Cobbler card base 8 1/2" x 5 1/5", scored at 4 1/4"
  • cut a copper foil layer 4" x 5" and die cut a decorative side edge
  • cut a piece of designer paper 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"
  • cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 3 7/8" x 1 3/4" for sentiment

I chose the Stitched Be Mine edge die to create a beautiful decorative edge on the copper foil layer, which is layered behind the designer paper and adhered to the card front.  Stamp sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  Add copper elements and a copper trim bow, than layer onto card front with dimensionals.  Embellish with copper stars.

Boo to You Pop-Up Monster Card and Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek!

Boo to You stamp set with the Hammered Metal embossing folder and Monster Bash designer paper from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

I love Fall!

It brings so many things which I enjoy:  crisp cool air (which means warm cozy clothes), apples & pumpkins, and the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog!  And although the crisp cool air and cozy clothes part just isn't happening (yet), I have discovered the first of the fall apples are awesome, and so is this!!

Introducing: the amazing new 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog!

It is packed with awesomeness!  From stamps, punches, paper and embellishments, I love far to much of it!  And than I saw this, the Boo to You stamp set.  I have been wanting a monster stamp set for awhile, so this made me very happy!

As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to make a pop up card!  This gem is the result.

Check out this guy! He lives in the Boo To You stamp set from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

The card base was created by tracing the outside of a Coffin Treat Box lid on a folded piece of Basic Black cardstock, than adding texture with the new Hammered Metal embossing folder.  Wait......coffin treat box?  Yup!  Those are in there too!  And this embossing folder will be used a ton!

Okay -- let's talk about something that is genius......Coffin treat boxes!  They are awesome!  They are pre-cut and scored, making them a snap to assemble and fill with your favorite Halloween treat!  I have a cool treat in mind, and may just have to show you in an upcoming post!

And did you see the coffin wreath posted on my Facebook page?  Check it out if you haven't!  Grab some of these cool treat containers while you can, because I have a feeling they won't last long!!  Ordering starts September 4th.

Back to the monsters!  I started by creating a zombie for the front.  He was colored with a variety of Stampin' Blends, than fussy cut.  I also used Monster Bash designer paper for some contrast.  The interesting background piece is the web patterned paper from the same collection cut with the Under the Sea dies, and Monster Bash Enamel Shapes for the eyes.

Boo To You stamp set, Monster Bash designer paper and hammered metal embossing folder from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog

The pop-up monster on the inside was also colored with a variety of Stampin' Blends, than fussy cut.  A strip of window sheet works perfectly to make him pop!

Attach your monster to the inside on a strip of window sheet to allow him to pop up.

I thought he would be extra cute holding a sign, so I punched a little hole through the monster's paws, and tied a piece of the Granny Apple Green twine from the Tags & More kit through the holes.   I added a strip of cardstock over the twine for the sign.

Stampin' Tips:

  • The twine is white with 1 ply of color.  Unraveled the plys to pull the colored ply out to use as a solid color twine.

To create this card:

  • Trace the coffin treat box lid onto a Basic Black card base cut 11" x 4", scored at 5 1/2"
  • Cut the designer paper strip for the front 1" x 3 1/2"
  • Cut a strip of window sheet 1/2" x 4", scored at 1/2", 2", and 3 1/2"

The net die from the Under the Sea dies works perfectly to create a wicked web layer behind the zombie.  Repeatedly stamp the Boo to You sentiment on Pumpkin Pie cardstock in Versamark ink, before punching out with the Starburst punch to layer on the front.  The Monster Bash Enamel Shapes have little dots that work perfectly for dimensional eyes.

So what do you think? Are you excited to get your copy of the Holiday catalog?  If you don't have a demonstrator, and live in the US, I would love to provide a copy to you!  Just send me an email with your request, and I will get one on it's way.

Color Fusers Blog Hop August 2019

August Color Fusers: Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pretty Peacock, Blackberry Bliss

Welcome!  Thanks for joining us today on the Color Fusers Blog Hop.  You are probably joining me today from Jo Anne Hewins, where she had another beautiful project!  Today's color combination provides contrast, with the rich color of Blackberry Bliss and the softer color of Coastal Cabana, and a little in between.

Color Fusers Blog Hop August 2019: Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pretty Peacock, Blackberry Bliss

I have not played with the Follow Your Art Suite nearly enough since it debuted in the Annual catalog this year, so I thought this would be a fun color scheme to use it with.  It is a really fun product grouping, and is all about us crafters.  I especially love the coordinating Arts & Crafts die set.  There are fun little accessories and great coordinating pieces.  It also includes an adorable embellishment kit, which includes perfect little heart charms.

The Follow Your Art Designer Paper follows the theme perfectly and couldn't be cuter!  There is even paper with hot glue guns on it!  Seriously!  Check it out!

The stamp to create a fancy ribbon bobbin from the It Starts With Art stamp set worked perfectly to create this filigree frame for my sentiment.  Isn't it beautiful?

Use the bobbin stamp to create a gorgeous filigree frame for your sentiment.

I used the coordinating Arts & Crafts Dies to cut out watercolor pencils and some cute accessory pieces, like the paper clip ( yes -- a paper paper clip!  So cute!) and the pretty stitched lace strip, which I love.

The coordinating Arts & Crafts die set cuts out markers, pencils, buttons, and even a paper clip!

To create this card:

  • Cut a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and score at 5 1/2"
  • Cut a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock
  • Cut a 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock
  • Cut a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" piece of Follow Your Art designer paper
  • Cut a 3/4" x 3 1/2" strip of Pretty Peacock, cut banner ends on both sides

I embossed the Bermuda Bay layer with the Eyelet Lace embossing folder before layering it between the Pretty Peacock cardstock and Follow Your Art designer paper.  Stamp the colored pencils in Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pretty Peacock, and Blackberry Bliss before die cutting.  I tied the pencils together with Blackberry Bliss twine from the Tags & More Accessory Kit (I separated the Blackberry Bliss from the white portion) and included an adorable charm from the Follow Your Art embellishment kit.  Die cut a Blackberry Bliss lace strip and a Coastal Cabana paper clip to layer with the sentiment.  To create the sentiment piece, stamp one side of the bobbin stamp in Bermuda Bay ink repeatedly around the circle to create a filigree frame, than stamp the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Isn't the Follow Your Art bundle adorable?  And it could not be easier to get the whole product suite!

Did you know?

In the new Annual catalog, product suites are bundled, making ordering a snap.  With one item number, you can order the stamp/die bundle at a discounted price, plus the paper and any other coordinating products, giving you everything you need for perfectly coordinated creating.  I love this ordering option, and I know you will too.  Try it!  Just click on the host code, or any of the items below to go to my store.  Use this host code at checkout and I will send a special thank you for your order.

A Daisy Lane Catalog CASE

Daisy Lane and Stitched Label dies combine for a beautiful card!

There are so many gorgeous projects in the Annual catalog, and this one is no exception!  I CASED this with a couple changes to make it my own, but I love the depth to this card!

What does it mean to CASE?

Copy And Share Everything.

The texture added by the burlap designer paper, and the crumpled Garden Green cardstock is perfect!

Using designer paper and crumpled cardstock are two ways to add texture to your project.

This strip was stamped with the fern from the Daisy Lane stamp set in Garden Green ink before crumpling.  (I have been having a lot of fun recently with this set. I also used it last week on this card).

It also uses one of my favorite die sets, the Stitched Label dies.  I know, I have a lot of favorites, but I can't help myself!

The designer series paper is from the Pressed Petals collection.  The fronts are beautiful florals, and the backs are perfect layering prints, including this burlap.

To create this card:

  • cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4"
  • cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock  4" x 5 1/4" for the front layer
  • cut a strip of vellum cardstock 1" x 4 1/2"
  • cut a strip of Garden Green cardstock 3/4" x 5", trim both ends

Die cut the large label from designer paper, and a small circle from Whisper White cardstock.  Stamp the small daisy on the Petal Pink front layer in Petal Pink ink, the fern on the Garden Green strip in Garden Green ink, and the sentiment on the white circle label in Crumb Cake ink.  Layer the large label and strips on the front layer, tie with linen thread, and adhere to the card base.  Add the circle sentiment to the center.

I hope you enjoyed today's CASE.  Pick a card from your catalog to CASE, and share it with me.  Or get your very own Daisy Lane set and CASE my card!  I would love to see what you make!

Delightful Day Note Cards using Scalloped Note Cards

SU Scalloped Notecards

I love the new scalloped note cards and envelopes.  They make creating a little note quick and simple. Using just ink and stamps, you can make cute note cards, too!

This set of note cards is dressed up a little, but still come together quickly.  They use the new Scalloped Note Cards & Envelopes paired with the Delightful Day stamp set. This stamp set is perfect for making tags, but is so versatile, it works great for cards, too!

DELIGHTFUL DAY BUNDLE

These note cards come in a pack of 20, in 4 colors, with 20 matching envelopes. They are one of the hidden gems in the new Annual catalog!

To create this card:

  • cut a 3/4" x 5" piece of designer paper to coordinate with the note card color

Stamp the leaves across the front of the note card, followed by the flowers. After stamping the leaves, color them in with a coordinating Stampin' Blends marker.  Old Olive ink and Blends marker where used on today's projects.  Add a strip of designer paper along the bottom inside edge of the note card to peek out from under the scallop.  The stitched edge dies from the Stitched Labels Dies adds the perfect element of detail to the front.  Add any sentiment of choice.

STITCHED LABELS DIES

Stampin' Tip:  The White Stampin' Chalk marker is a fun way to add details to colored cardstock or note cards.  This was used on the Balmy Blue note card.

Coloring Fun with Bloom & Grow

The Bloom & Grow stamp set with coordinating Budding Blooms dies.

Welcome back!  Today I have another project featuring the Bloom & Grow stamp set, and I paired it with the coordinating Budding Blooms dies.  Together these are fantastic!  I have stepped up this card, adding layers and embellishments.

The flowers are so fun to color!

The floral spray used on this card is so fun to color.  It is large enough to do some shading if you choose, but small enough to take just a couple of minutes to complete.  I chose to use Stampin' Blends, however, Aqua Painters with ink, Pigment Sprinkles, or watercolor pencils would also work great!  This could also be stamped directly onto designer paper and die cut for a quick accent piece.

Silver Metallic Thread and Rhinestones are the perfect finishing touch!

To create this card:

  • Cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Melon Mambo cardstock, scored at 4 1/4"
  • Cut a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Perennial Essence designer paper
  • Cut a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" piece of vellum

After coloring the floral spray, I embossed the vellum with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  The sentiment was cut using the Stitched Nested Labels dies.  This was all layered together with dimensionals, and some Silver Metallic Thread and Rhinestones were added to finish it off.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects featuring the Bloom & Grow stamp set with the Budding Blooms dies.  Did you know when you purchase a stamp set & die bundle it is discounted for a savings?  It's true!  This includes the Bloom & Grow stamp set and Budding Blooms dies!  Get yours today and save!  Click on any of the links below to take you to my online store.
