Embossing Folders

Color Fusers Blog Hop March 2019

Tea Together stamp set with the FREE Sale-A-Bration Tea Time framelit dies and Country Floral embossing folder. The Delicate Lace edgelit dies add a gorgeous edge detail!

I am happy to be hopping with the Color Fusers this month!  Join us the first Monday of each month as we create using the same color palate.  This month includes one of my favorites, Gorgeous Grape!

Color Fusers March 2019: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Smoky Slate

I love the teapot in the Tea Together stamp set from the 2019 Occasions catalog.  And as part of the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion, the coordinating Tea Time Framelit dies are FREE with a qualifying purchase!

This month, I choose to create an elegant card using shimmery white cardstock, and used the Smoky Slate for depth, allowing the Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape to add the perfect pop of color.

Tea Together stamp set, Tea Time framelits, Country Floral embossing folder and Delicate Lace edgelit dies

To recreate this card:

  • Cut a Shimmery White card base 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2"
  • Die cut the left edge of the cardbase with the Delicate Lace edgelit die
  • Cut a Shimmery White layer 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" and emboss using the FREE Country Floral Sale-A-Bration embossing folder
  • Cut a 1/2" x 3 1/2" strip of Smoky Slate cardstock
  • Use a Highland Heather ink wash over Shimmery White cardstock, than stamp and die cut the teapot and flowers

An ink wash, pieces from the Delicate Lace edgelit dies, and the flowers from the Tea Time die set add perfect details.

The ink wash gives the teapot a subtle bit of color.  I added more ink to the wash for the flowers.  To create depth, layer several Smoky Slate teapots behind the white tea pot.  Little die cut scraps from the Delicate Lace edgelit die work perfectly to add detail to the teapot.  A strip of Smoky Slate cardstock grounds the teapot and adds a great base for the Gorgeous Grape striped ribbon.  For the finishing touch, I added some Glitter Enamel Dots to the centers of the flowers.

Count Your Blessings with Colored Veneer Embellishments

Count My Blessings stamp set and colored Touches of Nature Elements veneer embellishments

I love this sentiment.  It's from the Count My Blessings stamp set in the new Holiday Catalog. I will use this a ton this holiday season!

This card also uses the Ruffled Dynamic Embossing Folder, from the Annual Catalog, to create the background, and the Painted Harvest stamp set for the leaves, which are punched out with the new Leaf punch.  I dressed it up a little with gold glimmer paper, and Year of Cheer metallic washi tape!

I also added a Touches of Nature Element.  I love veneer embellishments, but I struggle with how plain they sometimes look on a project.

In come my ink pads!

Did you know you can color them to coordinate with any project?

Yup!  You sure can!  And it is super easy!

Simple Happy Celebrations card

Have you ever looked at a card, and thought, 'Wow! How did they do that?'  Well, let me show you how easy it can be to make a card like that.

The new Celebrations Duo embossing folders in the Occasions catalog can be easy to miss.  They are tucked into the upper corner of page 40, which features the amazing stamp set, Happy Celebrations

That amazing stamp set happens to coordinate with these little gems.  These embossing folders actually deboss the image, meaning, instead of being raised (embossed), it indents the image (debossed).

Any Stampin' Up! embossing folder can create embossed or debossed pieces to use on your projects.  What is the benefit of using an image debossed you may ask?  Let me show you!

Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders and Happy Celebrations stamp set

The affect you get after stamping over the top of the debossed image is amazing! The best part is, when the Celebrations Duo embossing folders are combined with the coordinating Happy Celebrations stamp set, the possibilities are endless!

This card is quick and easy.  After debossing with the Celebrate folder, I stamped over it with Pool Party and Bermuda Bay ink, using a circle stamp, which allows the sentiment to pop.  The rest of the sentiment was stamped in Bermuda Bay.  I embellished this card simply with 1/8" gold ribbon and a few gold sequins.  Finally, since Wink of Stella is one of my favorite crafting items ever, it found it's way onto this project as splatters across the card front.
