Quick & Easy

Ink Storage Overhaul (video)

New Storage by Stampin' Up

I am in LOVE!

The new Storage by Stampin' Up! line came out a few months ago.  Since its debut, I have taken time to decide how I wanted to incorporate it into my space.  With a full work space revamp in my future, I wanted something that would work now and later.

It is awesome!!

With only 5 sturdy white plastic modular pieces to work with, it's like playing craft Legos.  By mixing, matching, stacking, and pairing, these modular pieces make -the- most amazing custom storage space (you can see my space before later in this post)!  And the best part, when you want to 'reorganize' (and face it......we all do it......over and over again), you can take the pieces apart and create a whole new look!

SU Storage by Stampin' Up units 1

  • Ink Pad & Marker Tray (5 pack) - holds 5 ink pads with coordinating Stampin' Write Marker
  • Stampin' Blends Tray (5 pack) - holds up to 30 Stampin' Blends or other markers
  • Open Storage Cube - perfect for blocks, ribbon, adhesive, tools, embellishments, dies, embossing folders, 6" x 6" designer papers - everything!
  • Storage Topper - great for reinkers, blocks, adhesives, embellishments, anything you want handy
  • Storage Lid - to finish a tower, or to create a base to set larger items on top of your storage

My favorite parts:

  • the crisp clean look.

When I stand at my crafting table, it is just refreshing, and inspires creativity!  Everything is within easy reach, with few exceptions, and makes it easy to put right away, keeping your space neat and tidy.

  • the rainbow of color.

With all my ink pads organized in a color rainbow, it is not only beautiful, but it makes comparing colors easy, and grabbing the right one a snap!

  • it's expandable and affordable.

All the pieces stack and lock together making it easy to add pieces as needed.  Whether you have 2 ink pads or 20, it can grow with you, and you only need to purchase the pieces you need.

Ribbon

I use it on almost every project.  I previously stored my ribbon and trims in a cart on the other side of my room.  Now, I keep the matching ribbon in the same stack with the coordinating ink pad and marker.  I will be adding additional pieces, and bring twine and metallic threads into the mix as well!  I love having it at my fingertips!  It makes my work space much more efficient.

Keep your ink, markers, ribbon and matching embellishments together to make your work space more efficient!

And here is how that space looked before.

Before organizing with Storage by Stampin' Up!

I will tackle my die cutting area next, adding pieces to store embossing folders, dies, and 6" x 6" designer paper stacks.  I will share it with you once finished!

Delightful Day Note Cards using Scalloped Note Cards

SU Scalloped Notecards

I love the new scalloped note cards and envelopes.  They make creating a little note quick and simple. Using just ink and stamps, you can make cute note cards, too!

This set of note cards is dressed up a little, but still come together quickly.  They use the new Scalloped Note Cards & Envelopes paired with the Delightful Day stamp set. This stamp set is perfect for making tags, but is so versatile, it works great for cards, too!

DELIGHTFUL DAY BUNDLE

These note cards come in a pack of 20, in 4 colors, with 20 matching envelopes. They are one of the hidden gems in the new Annual catalog!

To create this card:

  • cut a 3/4" x 5" piece of designer paper to coordinate with the note card color

Stamp the leaves across the front of the note card, followed by the flowers. After stamping the leaves, color them in with a coordinating Stampin' Blends marker.  Old Olive ink and Blends marker where used on today's projects.  Add a strip of designer paper along the bottom inside edge of the note card to peek out from under the scallop.  The stitched edge dies from the Stitched Labels Dies adds the perfect element of detail to the front.  Add any sentiment of choice.

STITCHED LABELS DIES

Stampin' Tip:  The White Stampin' Chalk marker is a fun way to add details to colored cardstock or note cards.  This was used on the Balmy Blue note card.

New Catalog Blog Hop with Bloom & Grow

Simple stamping with the Bloom & Grow stamp set!

I am happy to be here today with a project using brand new items from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!  What's even more exciting is I am hopping with some of my Luv 2 Stamp team members!  We are each featuring a bundle from the new annual catalog.  You may have just visited Patty Bennett at Patty Stamps, where she featured the Floral Essence bundle.  Hop along with all of us!

This bundle was the first one I chose to create with.  The more I used it, the more I loved it.  The sentiments are perfection!  And the best part - it's so simple!  I love the clean look, and how the colors pop. I call this Simple Stamping!

Mix in little pops of color to add interest to your project!

The Bloom & Grow stamp set is part of a bundle, pairing perfectly with the Budding Blooms dies.  I did not use the dies on this project, but they work so well together, I wanted to share them with you.

To create this card:

  • cut a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" for the base
  • cut a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock 3 3/4" x 5" for the layer
  • cut a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock 1" x 3 3/4" for the sentiment

I stamped the florets in Highland Heather ink, than added pops of color with Gorgeous Grape and Pineapple Punch, by carefully inking one floret, and randomly stamping throughout the cluster.  To do this, use washi tape or masking tape as a mask on your stamp, or just carefully ink the stamp on the edge of a stamp pad.

I hope you enjoyed today's project!  Stop back Monday for a stepped up project featuring this bundle!

Now hop over to Cindee Wilkinson at Just Sponge It for a beautiful project using the To A Wild Rose bundle.  Or head back to Patty Bennett at Patty Stamps to see the Floral Essence bundle.  You can also visit Kurstan del Rosario at Stamp with Kurstan to see the Come Sail Away bundle.

Color Fusers Blog Hop June 2019

Color Fusers Blog Hop June 2019

Welcome back!  It's hard to believe June is here and it's time for another Color Fusers blog hop.  We hop on the first Monday of each month.  Thanks for joining us!

Color Fusers June 2019: Blueberry Bushel, Real Red, Gray Granite, Black

This month's challenge is modern and contemporary.  I ran with this and used some scraps to create fun colorful circles.  Not only is this a great way to use some of your scraps, but it's fast and easy.

The stamp set I used is one of my go-to sets for birthday cards, Broadway Birthday.  I love the large bold sentiments and solid images.  It has coordinating dies as well, making it even better!  Now this stamp set and the coordinating dies will continue into the new catalog, however, it is currently bundled at a discount, which will end today!

To create this card:

  • Cut a Thick Whisper White card base at 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"
  • Cut a Whisper White layer 4" x 5 1/4", and emboss with the Subtle Embossing Folder

To make the colorful circles, I pulled scraps of the 4 colors we are working with this month and adhered them onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I used the circle die from the Broadway Lights Framelit set to die cut them, creating circles with varying color.  The 1" circle punch would work as well.  Arrange the circles onto the card front and add your sentiment.

Enjoy Life stamp set with Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper Card

Petal Promenade designer series paper and the Enjoy Life stamp set

Photorealistic designer series paper is not always my thing.  I just have not figured out how to use it well.  However, the Petal Promenade designer series paper from the Annual catalog is gorgeous!  I have used it a lot.  The colors work well together, and it carries a card so well.

On this project, I have chosen to pair it with the Enjoy Life stamp set, also from the Annual catalog.  It has some really great sentiments.  I especially like this one.

Petal Promenade designer series paper and the Share What You Love embellishment kit are FREE with a qualifying purchase until March 31st!

Since Sale-A-Bration is almost over -- GASP!! -- I wanted to get a little more use out of the extras that have been added as FREE gifts with purchase.  Did you know you can get this gorgeous paper FREE?  A whole pack of it!  In addition, you can get the Share What You Love embellishment kit FREE as well.  This little box is packed full of hidden gems, including this beautiful laser cut tag, which I used for the sentiment, and the adorable mini paper clip used as an accent.

To recreate this card:

  • cut a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and score at 5 1/2"
  • cut a 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Petal Promenade designer series paper
  • cut a 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of gold glimmer paper

Using the large scallop die from the Seasonal Layers thinlits, die cut a long scalloped edge on the designer series paper and glimmer paper before layering on your card.  Tie a piece of gold sequin ribbon around a mini paper clip, than tie it to the tag with a piece of Calypso Coral ombre ribbon.  Add some gold sequins for a finishing touch.

This card is quite simple to make and comes together quickly.  What do you think?  Try making a card with photorealistic paper and share it with me.  I would love to see it!

Would you like to get a pack of the Petal Promenade designer series paper FREE?  Place an order of $50 or more in my online store by March 31st, and choose it as your FREE sale-a-bration gift!
